Lindon Barr
Artistic Director
Lindon Barr is a British Choreographer, Dance Artist and Lecturer based in London working across the UK and internationally. He started his journey at Bodywork Company, Cambridge studying a range of dance disciplines from Ballet to Hip Hop before travelling to studios in Los Angeles & New York to further his training and knowledge. Lindon works closely with the Olivier Award Winning ‘Boy Blue’ and ‘ZooNation: The Kate Prince Company’. He is also the Artistic Director of his own Award Winning Hip Hop Dance Company ‘Elementz Entertainment’.
As a choreographer Lindon’s biggest credit to date was working on the new West End Musical - Exposure (St. James Theatre, Victoria). Lindon received a Broadway World Awards nomination for Best Choreography for his work on Exposure. He has also toured his work ‘Perception’ to Stockholm winning the Emerging Talent Award. Other choreographic credits include America’s Got Talent, Rock The Circus (German Tour), Norwegian Cruise Lines, Hewlett-Packard’s Discover London Conference, Samsung, Mercedes-Benz, Coca Cola, The London Fashion Festival, Vidal Sassoon & Love Box Music Festival. Lindon also worked with Maltese Artist, Brooke for her performance at the Bay Music Awards in Malta.
Lindon’s performance credits are extensive and include London 2012 Olympic Opening Ceremony, Jesus Christ Superstar (World Arena Tour), Thriller Live (West End), Some Like It Hip Hop (West End & UK Tour), Into The Hoods: Remixed (West End & UK Tour), Message In A Bottle (Original West End Cast), The Five (UK Tour), The Brit Awards, The X Factor, San Francisco Hip Hop Dance Fest, Russian Classical Ballet Theatre & EA Sports. He has also danced for Artists such as Take That, Mariah Carey, Little Mix, Rita Ora, Ally Brooke, Ed Sheeran & Coldplay. Lindon enjoys travelling and has had the privilege of performing throughout Europe, USA, Africa & Australia.
Lindon has taught at many institutions across the UK and internationally including Pineapple Dance Studios (London), Base Dance Studios (London), Westside Performing Arts (Ireland) and currently lectures in Hip Hop Artistry at the Institute of Contemporary Theatre in Manchester. He has also judged at competitions including BDO World Street Dance Championships, IDTA National Street Finals & Midland’s Best Dance Crew.
Other personal achievements include competing at the World Hip Hop Championships in Las Vegas, USA and becoming the National Adult Freestyle Champion.
Award Winning Hip Hop Dance Company Elementz Ent. was founded in September 2006 by Lindon Barr. The company is a collective of dancers from all over the UK, now based in London. Elementz Ent. specialises in Hip Hop/Street Dance although company members are also trained in many styles of dance including Ballet, Contemporary, Tap & Jazz.
As a theatre company, Elementz perform regularly throughout the UK & Internationally showcasing Hip Hop Theatre. Past performances include The Bay Music Awards (Malta), Rock The Circus (German Tour), Stockholm Fringe Festival (Sweden), Breakin' Convention (UK Tour), The IDO World Hip Hop Championships (Poland) and The HHI World Hip Hop Championships (Las Vegas, USA). In venues and theatres such as The Royal Opera House, Sadler's Wells, Hammersmith Apollo & Indigo2.
The company work frequently in the Corporate & Entertainment world providing acts for Corporate Events, Live Productions, Trade Shows, Product Launches, Weddings & Private Parties. Clients Include Mercedes-Benz, Samsung, Citroen, JD Sports, Coca Cola & Vidal Sassoon.
Elementz have been running classes in Cambridgeshire, Essex & London for the past 10 years with an attendance of over 200 students weekly. Our ‘Elementz Academy’ now runs every week in Loughton, Essex for young performers from age 5 to 18 years. Workshops are also taught throughout the UK & Europe.
The company also work individually in many different fields of the performing arts industry. Individual credits include Thriller Live, Starlight Express, Mariah Carey, X Factor, Take That, London 2012 Olympic Ceremonies, ZooNation Dance Company & Boy Blue Entertainment.
